Environmental Inventory
You can maximize support for your desired behaviors by keeping healthy foods accessible, and make sure the treats around you are ones you can eat in moderation (i.e., you can eat just one). In addition to the usual fruits and vegetables, such treats might include low-calorie cookies you regard as just OK, rather than simply fabulous! Be careful though, even such low-calorie treats, as pointed out earlier, can become binge material under certain conditions. Choose carefully what is placed in your immediate environment.

Activity:

Sometime in the next couple days, walk through first your home, then at work, and thoroughly investigate what possible trigger foods are lurking in each place. With great zeal and honesty, eliminate them in whatever way is easiest and most permanent. Throwing them away is usually the most effective. Make a list of which foods you removed from your environment and why. Replace the food you removed with healthier foods you enjoy. You may also want to reward yourself (with a new CD or something else you like) to offset what you are giving up.
