Weight
maintenance refers to the behaviors, attitudes, and resources
important to preserve the weight loss you may have experienced,
to support any further desired weight loss, and to preserve
the weight management skills you have learned thus far.
Now you have
learned some new skills related to weight management. You
have learned much new information. In the next few months,
the challenge will be in the application of this information
to your actual life. Remember that changing an old habit
is a gradual process. It is often two steps forward and
one step back. What that means is that some weeks you will
feel proud of your progress and other weeks you will slip
back to older habits, especially in response to an unforeseen
stressor.
