This movement usually comes at the end of a sequence of Tai Chi movements. Because of it's effectiveness in moving chi freely to every part of the body, we teach you to do it at the end of each new movement you learn. When you learn all twelve movements, this one will take its place as the last.

Movement:

  1. Shift the weight so that it's even on both legs. Lower the arms in front of the body with wrists crossed and palms facing up; knees are slightly bent.
  2. Open the arms and raise the hands up and out slowly to temple height (define temple height).
  3. Close the eyes. Turn palms down and lower the arms slowly and evenly to the sides.

End Position: Feet are parallel, hands along the sides, and knees bent slightly.
