Step One - Understanding Your Stress

The first step to getting anywhere is to know where your starting point is. In this case, you need to find out what triggers stress for you and how stress affects you. Only then will you be able to determine the best coping strategies.

The objectives of this first step of the program are to help you:

  • assess your current level of stress and its effect on your life,
  • identify typical triggers of stress,
  • identify symptoms of stress, and
  • begin to identify strategies that will be effective in helping you change your reaction to stressful situations.
