| Review the entries in your
journal that you marked with an "X" as "avoidable
stressors" earlier in this step.
On a blank page in your journal or on your "To-Do List"
for the next week, write out two actions you will take to remove avoidable stressors for the future. Make sure
the actions are concise and achievable. It also helps to estimate the day and time you plan to do them.
Bad
examples (too vague):
- Make
some extra money to get out of debt.
- Look
for a new job.
Good
examples (concrete):
- First
thing Saturday morning, buy a file box and spend
an hour getting the bills organized and a budget
for the month outlined.
- Set
my alarm for fifteen minutes earlier on Sunday
evening to get on the road fifteen minutes earlier
Monday morning.
Make
a commitment to yourself to accomplish these actions
this week. But also be a good scientist and observe: If you didn't get them done, what got in
the way? What would help next time?
